Although it was advertised as 'new', when it arrived, I noticed that the protective film on the back of the screen had 2 places where something had been cut from it and looking at my broken screen, there were 2 stickers in the corresponding places. After installing the screen and turning on my PSP to make sure it worked before closing it back up, I noticed a small spot or 2 at the bottom of the display where the image was discolored, but it was adequate enough to do what I needed it to do. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect fit for PSP 2001 *by Z***0 on Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2014* Background: Even though I already had a PSP go, I picked up a 'broken' PSP after initial inspection of its situation from a friend that was about to toss theirs. At the time, I saw two obvious problems...first being that the battery was ready to burst, and had swelled to the point it couldn't even make contact with the power terminals anymore. The second, was when I thankfully found I could turn it on even without the battery installed, was the screen... somehow it looked like someone had hit it with a nail and it spider-ed out from there.After some digging, about the only thing I really wish was that Sony would have kept the connectors consistent across revisions. It turns out that the best (arguably) screen for the PSP shipped with the Street/E-1000 models. But Sony had changed connectors and specs across each revision; in short, as much as i wanted to, I had to stick with using only a 2000 screen for my now rescued PSP 2000.That said, I had low expectations with the replacement screen, remembering all too well the ghosting and motion blur issues that were prevalent with the 1000 series screens - and their notoriety for dead/stuck pixels.Pleasantly, the first positive was that the package arrived a day ahead of the earliest estimate. Props to the shipper/seller for that.Secondly, the tools provided - while not lasting much beyond the initial operation - were just about perfectly sized for everything I needed to do to repair/replace the PSP screen. The new one fit like a glove.While not completely free of ghosting on games with particularly fast action (such as the Dracula X Chronicles), the screen effectively mitigates a lot of these issues that were pervasive with the original 1000 series. Coming from a PSP go to this, I also was at first surprised with the lower contrast on colors, until I noticed that standard PSP's don't seem to have the option to enable wide color in their firmware like the go does. Perhaps it is an early PSP thing... I can't necessarily fault the screen for that when the firmware itself won't even let me try.That said, I am giving this 5 stars because it does exactly what it was intended to do - be a drop-in replacement for a damaged or broken screen on a 2000 series PSP. Included tools did not do the job so prepare to have your own tools ready. No instructions included but videos abound in YouTube. Be careful and take your time. This isn't a novice repair. Have plenty of light and a magnifying glass ready. Review each step multiple times before performing it and you'll be successful. Before you start, think about how you will feel if you damage or destroy the unit. If that bothers you consider letting paying a professional for the repair.
