Lots of pockets; 1 on over-hood, 1 mesh inside over-hood, separated compartment inside main bag area, 2 hip pockets, 2 long zip pockets, 1 front zip pocket, 2 side open pockets for water bottles etc, 1 hidden bottom zipper pocket with rain cover. Lightweight but large enough to pack everything you need. Seller had a good sense of humor & answered all of my questions promptly. I recommend the backpack & the seller. I BOUGHT this backpack. It was NOT discounted OR given free for my honest opinion. :)Update March 28,2017Have been traveling with it for almost a year now and it still looks brand new despite being fully loaded with my stuff.
