I broke the kit as soon as I took it out of the box because the top and ball bearing (not attached) fell to the floor and it took me time to find the pieces and reassemble. You wouldn't want to take this camping as it would likely break and pieces would be lost.Once I got everything back together the actual process of using the bow was surprisingly easy. The bearing on the top provides a way to apply adequate pressure and swivel the dowel without any friction on your hand. The pre-drilled holes provide an easy base for starting the fire and the supplied tinder is dry and will easily catch. In a few seconds I had smoke and after learning to position everything I was able to produce a flame with practice.As stated above, the bow was good as a teaching tool to show what can be done. It isn't something I would want to rely on while camping or for wilderness survival. Overall we had a good time and learned in the process. It is reusable and as long as I keep the pieces together it does what I need. ### ⭐ Making something easy diificult *by B***W on Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2018* the fire bow is the most complicated thing I have ever seen its such a simple device and to make needlessly complicated is horrible. I like the bearing idea but it falls apart if you dont have in a bag you will lose the parts for it because the bearing is in three parts. the way the cord is wound around the stick is really not thought out well. if you want to carry this hiking and camping make sure you put all the parts together in one bag because you will lose it or better yet just make it out in the field carry a bit of cord and your knife it would be less hassle than this.
