By the time I'd got to the end, I had an audience of fifteen, aged between three and eleven, and every single one wanted us to start again as soon as we'd got to the end. Whereas our younger children did believe that they were causing the images to change, the older ones obviously understood that this was not the case, but that didn't detract from their enjoyment of it. They enjoyed predicting and even knowing what was going to be on the next page! Since its first outing it (and the simliar 'Mix It Up' by the same author, which we got at the same time) have been requested at every single session and what I, as someone running a play setting, have particularly enjoyed seeing, is the pleasure the older children are getting from being the ones reading it to their younger playmates.
