I read on their website that the traps attract case making, webbing, brown house, and white shouldered moths, all 4 of which will eat clothing when in the larval stages.

We had a bad moth infestation throughout our house (came home to it after a long vacation) and placed 1-2 of these in every closet and room, and then did moth remediation, laundering/airing out all clothes, having all rugs washed, washing all closet surfaces, throwing out damaged rugs and sweaters. At first, the traps collected dozens of moths. It was quite an ordeal, and ever since, we have used 1-2 of these in every room or closet as sentinels so that if the moths come back, we will see them on the traps. We put them on closet shelves and on top of wardrobes. We have only seen a few moths since that big infestation, and the traps give us some peace of mind. They are pricey, but a pittance compared to the cashmere sweater damage I had during our big infestation! These pheromone traps were recommended to me by an exterminator--he said that they are the best thing for moths, and that they are expensive because the pheromone is expensive. Good luck.

I've read that you can't use more than two traps per 1,000 square feet or the moths become confused. Is that true for these traps?

Thank you for your question. That's not the case with our traps. These moth traps contain a blend of female moth pheromones that will simply attract the mature male moths that are passing within range. As an example of range: 1 or 2 traps within a bedroom will be sufficient to attract the moths within that area but not attract moths from outside! If you have a large enough room to justify the use of more than 2 traps you should certainly do so to ensure adequate protection and monitoring.

How mzny hours would you leave woolens in the sun to rid of possible moth/larvae ?

I don’t put these in the sun with my clothes, but rather I put them everywhere I have seen or been affected by clothes moths - drawers, shelves, closets. I must have tried every brand of clothes moth trap there is and this is the only one that worked!
