That said, I only use crushed ice and even then I sit it outside the refrigerator for 3-5 minutes to soften the ice. Enjoy! **Q: Can it pulse?** A: In a sense, yes. Turning the cup left and right acts as the on off switch, so doing this quickly would be much like a pulse. **Q: How does this thing handle veggies? Like broccoli, kale, tomatoes, carrots etc..?** A: I use this thing all the time and have since I got my first blender in 2013. I put some ice in the bottom, liquid then the shake/powder mix, fresh greens/spinach about a small handful add another ice cube or two and some more liquid. Shake a little bit before blending and have zero issues with the items being blended. It’s not a full size blender, if you are wanting to mix a fruit/veggie cocktail then use a regular blender. This thing mixes protein powders/greens just fine as long as you don’t try to put cups of veggies and fruit in. This should be common sense.
