I'd say it was just what I was hoping for. While it is sold as a 500ml caraf, it actually holds 540 ml to the very top. 500ml is about 1.7cm (.66inches) below the top. It's 440ml to the very narrowest part. There is no line showing the exact 500ml mark as I have seen on some carafs. Overall very happy. I'll add, though, that the first one I ordered arrived shattered into dozens of pieces. It was shipped in a bubble type envelope with a small amount of bubble wrap wrapped around it. I was astonished Amazon delivery in that condition. Second one arrived fine.
