Heck all you have to do is read the cable JACKET! But besides that I have compared the construction of this cable compared to others on Amazon and it fills the bill for me. There are many of these that claim a CAT 8 spec but I can't see how you can get a CAT 8 spec on any cable smaller than a 26 ga. Some of these are as small as 32 ga. and I suspect they are more of a CAT 6 or 7 (maybe) so buyer beware. I am using it on an hi-res audio system and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for this cable solution. When I first plugged it in it had a harder presentation but as more time was put on the cable this smoothed out with a more vacuous quieter presentation compared to a Cat5 cable I was using.
