The treasure chest token comes off once it has been looted to show an empty treasure chest. The s These tokens do not interfere with game play since they all have flat surfaces and allow all characters or creatures to stand on top of them. It represents only the minority of pieces needed regularly. And when I have to still use 2D pieces, it makes using this look and feel silly. It all needs to be 2D or 3D.
