You may have to rasp or sand down if you want a perfectly flush cut, or do something I haven't figured out yet. The cuts tend to be longer on one end. To use, you PRY the things open, pulling them apart with both hands--no button as the directions say--then use a bit of pressure, but not too much. Each pressure squeeze locks them into the next notch. I have used them on up to 2.5inch pvc. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars this tool is junk; I'm returning it in the morning *by R***L on Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2022* This was the most expensive PVC pipe cutter I considered; one of the reasons I bought it was the assumption on quality following price. Not so. The blade was loaded with burrs and would likely not have cut anything without being sharpened locally first. The metal on the tool was corroded, suggesting it was either used or had been in the wrong environment for storage for a long time. It also arrived in a non-branded plastic bag to hold the packaging together since it fell out of the original packaging while in the plastic bag. But worst of all is that it proved impossible to open the jaws once fully closed.
