For example, when I close the window at night, Alexa automatically closes the blinds too. Or when the humidity gets too high in the kitchen, it opens the blinds to remind me to air out the room. simple, clever, and really useful. Even after all these years, the system still feels modern thanks to that flexibility. I’ve had plenty of chances to switch brands, but I still feel safest sticking with Yale. **Q: Is there a setting that allows you to zap intruders in the groin with some kind of laser?**
A: There is a secret code for that yes. You have to set it to disruptercon 4 and activate the discombobulator mode. This will then allow the door contact to laser intruders in the groin. Disruptercon 3 turns on head mode (makes a mess)

**Q: What happens if there is Power loss or internet loss?**
A: There is an internal battery that will allow the alarm to operate during a power cut. If there is Internet loss you can still operate the alarm via the keypad

**Q: Are these sensors waterproof?**
A: Although they are not waterproof, I have had one fitted for nearly a year outside covering our drive to the side of the house. I have fitted with a plastic covering over the top to prevent rain from hitting the unit, and it has been absolutely fine so far.

**Q: Can the keypad be placed anywhere? or does it need to be powered by mains?**
A: It's battery powered and can be placed anywhere. The batteries are said to last up to 2 years and it is the cr2302 type.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Work with Yale Smart Alarms

Bought this to extend my Yale alarm system. I had previously had an older Yale alarm, so found the installation very simple & easy to do. I can't understand why people have problems sticking them on unless that trying to stick them to very rough surfaces, as every one I have (about 20 over the years) have never had a problem. Alexa finds them so now Alexa says "Back Door Open" every time it gets opened. You can decide for yourself if this is a good thing as it can get annoying, but the Alexa routing could be tweaked to only operate during certain times I suppose. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the end with the screw (to open for battery change) is at the opposite end from the older system, meaning I had to reposition may of the new sensors as if I had just replaced the old sensors in the same place there would be no access to the screw. I'm sure there is a good reason for this, but it just makes planning things a little more difficult. Other than that this is a great product, and I would definitely recommend it if you want to make your house even more secure.
