I’ve had my Yale security system for almost 10 years now, and while the door/window contacts aren’t the prettiest things in the world ‘they’re a bit bulky and don’t fit perfectly on every frame’ they’ve proven to be absolutely rock-solid in reliability.The system itself is incredibly robust. The contacts respond instantaneously, and the alarm has never let me down. The PIR sensors can be a little over-sensitive at times, but that’s to be expected without more advanced and often more expensive presence detection.One of the best aspects is that the whole setup is completely wireless. It makes installation and repositioning around the house quick and hassle-free. With no cablesAnother thing I really appreciate is how seamlessly the Yale ecosystem integrates with Alexa and my wider smart home automations. For example, when I close the window at night, Alexa automatically closes the blinds too. Or when the humidity gets too high in the kitchen, it opens the blinds to remind me to air out the room. simple, clever, and really useful.Even after all these years, the system still feels modern thanks to that flexibility. I’ve had plenty of chances to switch brands, but I still feel safest sticking with Yale. Not perfect in looks, but it delivers where it matters, reliability, responsiveness, and peace of mind.

I purchased this for my outbuilding door which was around 50-60m away from the the main Yale hub (have a Yale home system).It was easy to install with good instructions. What made it great was the range at which it still detected changes quickly such as door opening and alarm trigger. There was no delay, even on the app.All in all, great value and good product

My yale sync system is well built, reliable and I've never had any connectivity issues. It's discrete and looks subtle on the door frames. In my other door contacts the batteries last about 18 months.For the price these cost they're a good quality additional protection for my home at a reasonable value.Having said all that based on my general experience with yale sync, i think i must have just got a device with a gremlin. This device connected fine and was easy to fit to thr door and frame. The same as all door contacts it just screw and sticks on to fit it. But it would not register a door opening or closing. Even when not installed and just side by side, nothing happened. There seemed to be a fault with the magnet or the metal switch that's activated when the door opens / closes and thr magnet moves.I needed to add a device quickly, so had to return this one and I got a replacement from a local shop which has been fine. Its the first time I've had an issue, so keeping 4 stars despite the issues with the specific one I received. Easy return to Amazon as always.

Easy to attach and sync to your hub

When I bought these door/window contacts I had a rough idea on how I would install them but I knew before hand it would require some thinking outside the box kinda' planning since the doors in my house are upvc and door and frames are not flush in-line. Luckily, the contact works fine even when you place the magnetic part (the thinner bit) at an angle, I've attached some photos as it's hard to explain.On one of the photos you'll see that I had to put a couple of with plastic tube like thingies to make it stick out as the gap would have been to big.If you look at them real close you can tell that they where not designed to be placed like this, because the lines of one side don't match the other side, however even when you install then like this they work perfectly.I think upvc doors like mine are quite common these days so I home this review will put similar concerns to the ones I originally had at rest.

Defective product delivered. Tried returning twice , no body has come for collection. Pathetic service by Amazon and suppliers
