Got something to hide?
I have a workshop that generates a lot of dust. One one wall of that shop, I built some shelves to store boxes of books that we don't have room for in the house. (It's a lot of books.) I was looking for a way to protect the books from the dust. I had some pretty complicated ideas, and then I saw this. It was easy to install. I just ran a 10' 2x4 in front of the shelf, installed the track, and hung the curtain, giving my self enough room to walk in between the shelves and the curtain. Problem solved! And it looks a lot better than anything I would have come up with. I chose navy blue, because I love that color it. And it looks nice, but the dust that used to settle on the books now sticks to the curtain. If I had it to do over again, I'd have chosen the brown color. But it's a workshop, not a living room. And the books stay clean. The total cost, even with the 2x4, is less than anything I would have built myself. If you have something to hide, and the measurements work out, this might be just the thing for you.

Good curtains for simple DIY applications
Just what I needed to create a dark environment for my basement for my home theater. This kit looks complete. It included everything from the curtain to the hooks and the rail and roller. The whole shebang. My only pet peeve with it was I wish it included more screws for.the anchors the hole the rails to the ceiling. The track itself is fantastic and perfect for this curtains. But they are a bit tough to straighten. So you need to have a lot of patience and use elbow greese to somewhat straighten it before install. Overall this is a still a very good set of curtains and I do recommend it for applications that can afford to look a bit scrappy.

Title: Effectively blocks intense light, Multiple uses
Although the curtain is on the thin side, it is excellent in blocking intense light. It is not lined or insulated so heat or cold may penetrate. It is wider than needed for my 69 inch sliding door so there is a tendency to bunch up. Light Penetration: Light blockage was tested with a 5000 lumen flashlight. FYI, 5000 lumen is incredibly bright. Looking into this flashlight can cause serious problems. That many lumen far exceeds what this curtain will encounter on a sunny day. Picture 1 shows the flashlight about a foot behind the curtain, so its light is concentrated on a small area. The picture shows just how little light is getting through. From another perspective, there are two pictures showing the room with the curtain blocking the light from the flashlight (picture 2) and one with the curtain removed (picture 3). These pictures were taken during the day so there is some ambient light coming through the windows. Focus on the wall that is illuminated by the flashlight. That light is completely removed when the curtain is placed in front. Actually, all of the light from the flashlight is blocked but it is clearly noticeable on the wall. Hanging: The curtain can be hung by placing a rod through the threading (shown) or through a continuous loop at the top. I used the top opening because the treading looked a bit on the weaker side. Still, there are plenty of threads and lots of loops along its width so there should not be a problem. Besides, the curtain is surprisingly light. They at least give options for your particular situation. Although I have described this curtain based on its light blocking ability, it is also advertised as a room divider. It comes with a unique track that allows for dividing or customization for different window shapes. Included are rollers that make moving on the track easy. Hooks are also included so the string loops can be used for that purpose. The remaining picture shows the curtain covering the 69 inch sliding door. To me, it looks somewhat bunched up. This is because at 100 inches it is wider than needed for this door. Also, it does not slide that well with the rod inside the curtain, especially compared to a curtain with rings. I thought that the original curtain that it replaced looked better. It not only better matched the width of the door but has rings making opening and closing easy. In all honesty, I will take this one down and perhaps but it back up in the hotter months when sunlight penetration is more of an issue. Summary and Rating: This is a fine curtain that serves multiple purposes. It is highly efficient at blocking intense sunlight but does not have additional insulation. Its width may be advantageous as a room divider or in unique situations for which a track with all the necessary gear is provided. It may not be best for standard door widths, such as the one described above, as it bunches and is harder to slide open using a standard curtain rod. Based on the fact that it performs very well for the purposes described by the seller, I feel justified in rating with five stars. I cannot justify faulting the curtain based on my particular situation. Just consider what you need this for and use my experience to help you decide.

Lightweigt and blocks light effectively
My quiet urban street took on a much brighter look when the street lights were recently upgraded. While "safety first" is always good, I didn't plan on being able to read in bed without a bedside lamp! These blackout curtains are long enough to serve as a room divider, allowing one person to sleep while the other stays up to work. The fabric is a durable polyester complete with a specialized blackout lining. However, hanging these curtains is not a task for someone new to home projects; I actually needed a second person to help with the "simple" hanging process. For those with a more advanced skill set, instructions are also available for installing a track system. While the polyester material indicates the curtains are washable, I would suggest contacting the manufacturer before attempting to clean them at home. A better routine option would be using a vacuum attachment to keep them dust-free.

Blackout drapery
The navy color is beautiful. They have a slight sheen to them. I like the mounting options. Theyโre a great bargain for the length and width. We use them to close off one side of our dining room and they add a classy and cozy feel to the room.

Thick, sturdy curtain. Works well for privacy
We split our basement in half to give our son his own space. He'd been sharing a room with his sister for the past 7 years! We did not use the mounting materials that came with it, though I'm sure they work just fine. Instead, we bought a standing frame that's pressure mounted and used curtain rings to run this across. We are very pleased! It's a little long for the frame, but it looks fine, so no one's complaining. Also, we thought the frame should be longer, so we blame that anyway! It doesn't totally block light because of the gaps at the top, but we only bought it for privacy, so no biggies. I'm sure it blocks the light just fine when used as directed.
