Contrasting infectious, catchy songs with rather grim perspectives on the state of religion, politics, media, and the environment, THE MUTE GODS blend the “out of the box” thinking approach of progressive music with a timeless melodicism and addictive hooks that cannot deny a certain alternative rock edge. Featuring Nick Beggs, long-time collaborator of Steven Wilson, Roger King (Steve Hackett), and the exceptional drumming skills of Marco Minnemann, THE MUTE GODS have forged a darker, deeply thought-provoking record that bears a sarcastic lyrical feel resulting in such impressive singles as “We Can’t Carry On” or the title-track as well as seven minutes long, highly dynamic pieces like “The Dumbing Of The Stupid” or “Window Onto The Sun”. nic beggs the bass player from steven wilson's band came out with this his 2nd release and it's just as awsome as the first.lyrics will rock you right in the face.musically outstanding great prog this will be in serious rotation at my place for quite awhile.one of those discs where you play it for someone and they buy it and they play for someone and it goes on and on because heaven help us something as good as this would ever make it to american radio.
