## Description

Made of ammonium hydroxide, insect relaxing fluid is idea for relaxing dried insect specimens. This product works great on all arthropods but is not recommended for butterflies or moths. Insects4Sale's Insect Relaxing Fluid is easy to use and yields fast results. NOTE: THIS PRODUCT SHOULD NOT TO BE USED ON LEPIDOPTERA AS IT CAN CAUSE WING DAMAGE.

Review: Reasonable fluid - Listing needs a bit more information - Packaging is fine and the bottle is sufficient for standard applications of relaxing fluid. I do feel that it should be mentioned in the description that it should not be used on leptidoptera since this is prominently labeled on the package when you get it. Seems like this should be mentioned since many of the questions and answers imply that it could well be used in leptidoptera applications. Obviously this is a bit of a problem since they feel the need to label the packaging that they send it in with a warning not to use it for leptidoptera.
Review: Three Stars - Product works great. Package it was shipped in was leaking though.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how much is used per insect? does it relax a butterflies/moths thorax ? does it contain any other ingredents besides 100% amodium hydroxide ?**
A: Very little used. Put it in a shallow bowl and had most left over after my sons 20 insects of all sizes and kinds for a science project. It is basically ammonium hydroxide. Older catches had to be soaked longer. Best advice is to pin as soon as insect is dead. Worked fine on Beatles, moths, scorpions, etc

**Q: How does one use this product, pease? I have purchased "papered" butterflies - folded in half and shipped in little paper triangles.**
A: When you use this product I found it best to soak a paper towel with it inside a zip lock bag and place the insect in the paper towel for at least an hour. You can leave it longer if an hour isn't enough. I have used it on all kinds of insects. It works pretty fast but on butterflies I would leave it a little longer.

**Q: I am making an old shampoo recipe for my kid's science project...requires ammonium hydroxide. Would this work or does it have other chemicals in it?**
A: It's mostly ammonium hydroxide but there are surfactants added. It would probably still work for the purposes of shampoo.
