It's not a true duplicate of the original LP -- the back of each CD sleeve only has the song titles. It includes 4 Jimmy Smith originals and three covers. I checked the detail on this album and apparently it is the second Jimmy Smith album released with the title A NEW SOUND A NEW STAR. According to the CD face and back sleeve this record has for this edition been confusingly re-titled THE CHAMP. The sound on this CD is excellent and all Jimmy Smith lovers , me included, are sure to lap it up. This is a CRUCIAL Jimmy Smith album.CD 2JIMMY SMITH'S HOUSE PARTY - JIMMY SMITHRecorded at two sessions in 1957 & 1958 and remastered for CD by RVG in 24 bit CD in 2000. There are two killer sessions on this wonderful album featuring top class Blue Note All Star musicians, and everything on this disc sounds terrific.. This record should have a much wider appeal than most other Jimmy Smith albums from the period. Here are two fine live Trio albums that are really no more than a showcase for Jimmy as he stretches out on some intense and extended organ vamps. Most of the selections on both discs have an average running time of around 10 minutes or so.All 5 albums are in separate single cardboard sleeves and have a narrow blue band round the front of the covers. There is no booklet or sleeve notes but you will find on the back of the sleeves all relevant track information, recording dates and mastering credits. The sound on all discs is as good as you could wish for.The box set was issued in 2018 by Universal Classics & Jazz, a division of Universal Music Italia. All discs are genuine, so no worries about clones or CD-Rs.This 5 CD certainly is excellent value for money. Just check the stand alone CD prices for any of these individual titles and you will see what a super bargain this box set is.Amazon have incorrectly stated on the product page this box set is on Decca but it is all exclusively Blue Note recordings.* It should be noted this is the second 5CD Blue Note budget box by Jimmy Smith with the title 5 ORIGINAL ALBUMS.
