Great for replacing rusty body bolts on Square Body Chevy trucks. These are not graded so would limit use to non critical panel fastening. The pointed ends do help line up the weld nut on the panel to be joined to the hole on the replacement panel, but if the alignment is very off, they will strip quickly if using an impact wrench.

Body bolts are not a structural fastener, and do not need to be Grade 5 or Grade 8. They do not need to be hardened or high tensile. They need to have clean threads, a proper SEMS washer, a tapered lead in, and definite rust resistance. These CHENACC bolts meet that requirement and compare very favorably with a Dorman 45597 body bolt. I have used and trust the Dorman 45597 on a Mopar. It is a gold standard fastener for this application. The CHENACC bolt has a black zinc finish which is likely better than Phosphate finish on the 45597. The thread quality is also very good. The Dorman unit is more refined, but in this application, I would use either.

Used to mount running boards with pre drilled holes

This is the most common size bolt used in GM front body panel assemblies. It is the same type of construction as the originals, but are different. So, you won't want to use these for a 100% restoration, but for a daily driver they are great. The sizing is correct. It's also nice to have the taper to help align the panels. The bolts are strong enough to hold the body panels together. Overall, these seem to be a very good buy.
