Review: This will save a future headache - I suspect the majority of people that are buying a tool like this are buying it for a future problem, not an active problem. If I needed to solve an active problem, I would have paid way more at a local big box store. I picked up this tool for that potential future problem. So my review will not be able to speak for the broken faucet removal ability. This part shipped pretty quick. I really liked that it came in a plastic tool box and an Allen wrench specific to the tool. Of course there was the random roll of doping tape. I observed that the removal tool had a thick coating of what looked like automotive paint on it. I had to put the parts in a vise to break the screws loose to get the two major components to come apart. The threads of the screws were also covered with that same automotive paint. So I ended up putting some oil on the screws and running them in and out to work the excess paint off. Once I had the removal tool broken in, I covered it with a thin layer of oil. Looking this over, I am pretty confident this will get me out of a jam when I really need something like this. Its design is so simple, its perfect. Once tightened up, this should seriously grip the inner wall of a faucet or fitting. The extractor did not have any tooling marks from being in my vise, so I do feel like it is made of some pretty hard steel. At the time of writing this review, This tool is being marketed for less than $10. For a tool that I may need a few times in my life, its an amazing value.
