Thought I would need at least three for lighting a darn stairway but two was plenty and then some! Lights are thin which allowed them to be installed in the limited space between the underside of a set of stairs and the ceiling of the stairway below them. They are easy to install and work great - surprisingly bright and work well with a dimmer. We like them so much, we're installing them in several locations throughout our house.Sometime after installation, a few began operating erratically. I contacted customer service through amazon and received an immediate response. They honored the warranty by immediately sending a return shipping label to send back the faulty units. The box has 2 knock outs for either single or in line connection. The light housing itself is about 3/4 inch thick with drywall clips to hold them in place in either half or 5/8ths drywall. You just use the attached wire plug to connect to wired plug from junction box.
