Overall, I'm happy with the case, but there are a few things potential buyers should be aware of. Cable management can be a bit challenging, especially if you're using multiple fans. The included fan cables are fairly short, so depending on your build, you may need extension cables or a fan hub to get everything connected cleanly. My biggest complaint, however, is the drive mounting system. The drive trays don't properly support SAS hard drives that only use the standard two side mounting screws. Your drives need to have the third center mounting hole in order to be secured correctly. If you're using enterprise SAS drives that lack that third screw hole, you'll likely run into compatibility issues. Aside from those drawbacks, it's a solid case with good overall value, but I think the drive compatibility should be made much clearer in the product description.

Used this initially for building a rack mount pc for video production. It worked great as a standalone unit, however we did not factor the length of the chassis and it does not fit in a standard depth rack case. This is not a fault of the item, but an oversight on my side. Durable build that survived traveling in the bed of a pick up truck

I'll preface this with this would have been my 4th Rosewill 4U case, and I've been very happy with the other three. This is the first with hot swap drive bays, and it's a flat out disaster. The thermals on this are such that it's impossible to run 8 enterprise 7200 RPM SATA drives, as they quickly overheat even at 72F ambient. The drive bay is within a metal box on the top half of the front of the case, and the front fans are underneath that metal box. The drives get no airflow whatsoever, and there's no way to get them airflow without hacking up the case and putting your own fans in where it's not possible to put in any standard fans. My drives were idling at over 50C, which is at least 20C higher than they should. When some load was put on the drives, they quickly got into the high 50s C, which is dangerously close to the max temperature of the drives. I cut off my burn in test very quickly before this case burned up my drives. This case might work if you're only running SATA SSDs in the drive bays, since they don't generate as much heat as HDDs, but even that seems questionable. The build quality is OK, the drive bays feel cheap and don't slide in and out nicely like a proper enterprise drive chassis. But that's irrelevant when you can't run 8 drives in the thing without burning them up. It's insane that this case made it to market with this design. A basic burn-in with 8 HDDs in it would have shown its thermals are dangerously poorly designed. I returned it. Strongly recommend avoiding this one.

I've had my eye on this case for awhile. I had an unraid server that was in a custom hacked case. The most I could fit in the old one as 10 HDDs and 4 SSDs. This case allows me to connect 24 HDDs/SSDs. It is put together very well and fits in my rack nicely. The air flow is really good and I like how the fans in the fan wall can easily be removed. The only issue I have with the case is the fan holders that you can remove are brittle. Just removing them one time I can see stress cracks forming. They will not last long.

Cant shut the case because the lid lip collides with the backplane. I shouldve just bought a netapp JBOD shelf and been done with it but I thought I'd give rosewill another chance. The rest of the case is sturdy, though the PSU plate can only really go one way. If it wasn't for the backplane collision it'd be a good case I think.
