Review: Amazing BUT needs xtra platform liner - Great frame - I put it together myself in about 30 minutes with just what was in the box, but if you’re not really coordinated, you may want an extra pair of hands available just for that first step. HOWEVER, I think this model is designed in such a way that it’s MUCH easier and quicker to do by yourself than any others I’ve made. The main reason for that is the way the side beams are designed. I appreciate that about this bed! It’s also fairly high off the ground with a decent amount of storage space underneath but it’s still really sturdy. I was actually quite pleasantly surprised by that for this price. The main thing you need to know, however, is that if you’ll be using a foam mattress, you need an additional platform layer as the slats are skinny and pretty far apart. That’s one of the trade offs in the design. These slats are really quick to attach and add to the sturdiness, but because of that design it means you’ll need to add a thin piece of plastic or particleboard or something under your mattress. Nonetheless, this bed frame is completely worth doing that from my perspective.
