These are made of solid cloth fabric (not the thin flimsy type) and seem like they would be washable. **Q: Is this silk? Is it good for ribbon embroidery?** A: It's more satin it's good ribbon I do a lot of crafts with it but I don't do embroidery so not sure if it would be good for that. **Q: Is this American made?** A: No. The label says, "MADE IN CHINA." **Q: Is this real silk ribbon or false advertising? I hesitate ordering anything from China lately as they use that word quite liberally and rarely is silk** A: Some of it was silk ribbon, some of it wasn't. I used it to make bows for a Cabbage Patch doll with pony tails so it was acceptable.
