A: Just checked mine, it seems all to be an alloy. I don't have a magnet to verify if it's aluminum or not.

A: In the specificationswhich you will find by scrolli g down, the neck length is listed at 11.2 inches

**Q: Can these be used with a switched outlet?**
A: Just so long as the witch turns the plug with on and off. These are pretty simple and work well.
