He’s right about that, because 1) it’s not a reflective finish, it’s a clear coat and 2) you have to read the directions. Alclad clear is applied at low pressure, around 15 psi and only 1 1/2 or so from the workpiece. Otherwise, yes, you’ll use it up in no time. This is actually an excellent top coat, good leveling, dries quickly with a durable finish and is easy on decals. It’s probably the best clear coat you’ll find for top coating over metallic finishes. Hope this helps. **Q: Can this be used on a chrome painted surface without smudging the chrome paint?** A: I sprayed chrome plating and it had a nice shine with no smudges or defects. Wipe with alcohol first and then paint. **Q: How long do I have to wait to put clear on to the paint** A: I always wait a month minimum of 48 hours.
