First let me say that I am always very nervous about ordering any clothing online. I have bigger upper arms and a bigger butt! I have an hourglass shape and sometimes getting a good fit can be hard! I have the kind of shape that makes jeans “gap” in the waist when they fit everywhere else! So I was worried about this lace and my arms. I needed a cute, classy dress for a wedding we are attending in two weeks & I fell in love with this style immediately! After over an hour of reading reviews and trying to compare the height, weight & size bought by others who had purchased this dress, I was back & forth trying to decide between a medium and a large. I finally decided to go with a size large! (I am 37 years old, 5’6” and 170lbs. I normally wear a medium or larger or a size 8/10 (rarely a 12 if it runs small), like I said I have big upper arms, and a big butt). I got the dress 2 days after ordering it (Thank you Amazon Prime) and was first impressed by the quality of the dress! It is made of a thick material and doesn’t feel scratchy or cheap at all! I was so surprised by this given the price point! As others have said, it has a “rubber” line along the inside of the shoulders and the chest area to keep the dress from sliding down. It is a beautiful navy blue! The material is so soft, it almost feels like cotton, which makes it incredibly comfortable! The dress hits just below my knees (again... I’m 5’6” tall with average length legs). The large fits GREAT! I *probably* could have gotten away with the medium but the large doesn’t look baggy or frumpy at all. My husband said, “Wow Babe! That fits like a glove and you look sexy and classy!” So YES! I am very satisfied with my purchase. I will absolutely be ordering from this buyer again and I’m excited to try other dresses now! I know you’ve been reading tons of reviews at this point and are probably on the fence, so let me reassure you... JUST BUY IT! Other reviewers have said the return/exchange process was incredibly easy and FAST so worst case, you aren’t a fan, you got to try it on and you got a QUICK refund! I think you’re going to love it as much as I do though! Good Luck! Ps. I had no makeup on, hair was a mess and no shoes on so I cropped the pic so you can see how the large fits on my frame!

This dress is stunning, and so well made. Stupid me, I wanted it hemmed 2 inches, and the seamstress ruined it! When I got it back, she had taken it up four inches on the left side and 2 inches on the right. So the only way it could be fixed was to shorten it even more! I was so upset. No apologies or refund. Lesson learned. Moving on. Anyway...I am 5'3" 145 lbs, and a 36C chest. The medium was snug so I sent it back and got the large which is much more comfortable. This dress is sooooo soft and well made. It feels like something I would have bought at Macys. It didn't even snag all night. The shoulders of the dress have a nice strong elastic that is a rubber material that sticks to your skin just enough to not slide up or down your arms. I surprised my husband with a DC photographer and we had our 9th year wedding anniversary photos taken in Washington DC, and the red was perfect for the patriotic back drop. My husbands jaw dropped when he 1st saw me in it! Shout out to Sony Velazquez photography and cinematography. Sony did a wonderful job! I highly recommend this dress. Just don't hem it. It was perfectly retro before, right at the calf, I should have just left it alone, and as you can tell from the photographs, the hem was all uneven!

Okay this dress was absolutely beautiful. I bought it as my maid of honor dress for my friends wedding. Great quality and very comfortable. The ONLY REASON I didn't give it 5 stars is because it was so long on me that we had to hem it pretty far up. HOWEVER, I am only 4'11". I ordered the smallest size and it was almost to my ankles, so shorties beware!!!! Other than that, it fit my bust perfectly (34A to 34B depending on brand of bra), didn't feel too tight on my shoulders (I was worried because I feel like my shoulders are a bit broad), the sleeves didn't ride up, and the neckline STAYED IN PLACE THE ENTIRE WEDDING! The color was spot-on to the discription and it was very flattering. If you are a normal height, you will have the perfect dress shipped to you without the hassel us short people have to deal with! I would definitely recommend this dress either way, though. It really is beautiful!

Got this dress for our youth choir girls to match the guys navy blue tie! It was a hit and everyone loved it! Only thing is for the taller ladies or those who are blessed on the rear end side...the dress can be a little too short for a more conservative audience. I reached out to the seller to see if they could add a couple of inches to the dress and they were not able to. I was told it comes only in one length! So keep that in mind. Hopefully you can see how it fits on different body types in the picture. Other than that...I loved the dress and it fit me and most of us well. It is soft but it is the kind of material that should ONLY be hand washed. I have Amazon prime so I was able to order it and get it in two or so days. And the return process on the two dresses I had to return was seamless! And as for the fit...it does run a little big. Only because you want the dress to be taut on your arms/shoulders otherwise it will droop down. I am usually a size 4, 5'4" and I got a size small and that fit well. Three of the ladies had to get extra small. One of the ladies in the picture is wearing a medium and the last 2 are wearing a large. I hope that was a detailed enough review :)! For the price...this was a great buy!!! Go for it!!!

The short of it: After 3 years, I've kept mine in decent condition, but wish it didn't have that "cheap" look to it. Every time you wash it, it loses more of its charm. If this is what you can afford, I understand, and it's a timeless design that you can use for many different events and won't look out of place as you go from 20 something to 30 something. So, it definitely has a longer life than most fast fashion (though just barely). It's a good value (for the low price), but it will disappoint you how quickly the quality fades because of the materials used. In the end you'll just really wish you had the same dress built better, and for that reason I think a nicer construction is worth a higher price in this case. I bought this dress a couple years ago and thought I'd write about the life of it so far for those trying to make more responsible clothing purchase decisions. The detailing of it does look pretty flattering, so for the price you are getting a look pretty close to the imagery. I will add that I have a body shape close to the model though an have a A/B-cup bust, and that might be relevant. Lace detailing -- after about a year, there was some minor fraying. If you've owned nylons (tights) before, you probably have experience with what the wear on elastic like materials looks over time. It does start to look a bit cheap as this happens -- maybe over a year wearing it some 12 times. Dress Material -- Very stretchy almost jersey like. I would not be surprised if someone a bit bustier, or a little larger than me would notice the material stretching out and bunching over time. I can see a little bit of this on my own, and I have the same body type this was tailored to fit. It is lightweight, but stretch will be an issue. For this reason, I would ABSOLUTELY NOT wash this in a washing machine. I always, always, recommend looking at the material blend when buying clothes for this reason. Length -- I'm 5'9" and this sits just about 3" (inches) above my knee cap. I liked the length as it's more conservative which this dress style suits, and means I can wear it to formal and semi-formal occasions (for instance, It's perfect for both a wedding, church, or just going out to a more formal date! More than you can do with a single dress in a lot of cases). Value -- Look, I have my own opinions about cutting down on clothing waste, mostly learned since making this purchase, so take this with a grain of salt. For the dollar value I would say the value is about 4/5. You get about what you pay for and I wouldn't say you are over paying... this is a decent price, for a garment that I'd say beats Forever 21 and (American) H&M by a tiny fraction. However, I can tell you that this dress has an incredibly versatile style. I can't tell you how many times I've thought about wearing it because the style is perfect for an event I'm going to, but it just starts to scream "cheap" if you even remotely get some wear/stretching on it. I often looked at it longingly and WISHED I bought the same style made of better materials. If I bought this out of a nice weight cotton dyed dark indego blue, and had a higher quality lace detailing, I would give this a 5 out of 5. Final thoughts: As I gaze into my closet now, my impression is mostly, "dang, I wish this dress was higher quality, because I'd keep it for life." Definitely has made me consider my dress purchases a lot more carefully, because I doubt I'll find a dress that has the same look :/

This dress is elegant and stylish, and a great bargain for the price. When ordering, however, I missed that some reviewers were noting that this dress runs about a size large. I first ordered a size small (usually my "normal" size) that was slightly baggy in the arms and loose in the waist; to me it looked slightly sloppy and not like the picture of the model. For reference, I'm 5'3", 125 lbs., 34B. I am now returning the small, but reordered an extra small, which fits as I would like it to (form fitting in the bust/waist and the sleeves) and still has enough stretch that it's comfortable, and not too tight. One thing I did notice, however, when comparing the two sizes is that the original dress (small) I'd purchased was more of a deep royal blue, whereas the x-small I am keeping is a darker, more true navy. So there is some slight inconsistency with the dyeing process, though minimal. All in all, this is a great special occasion dress that I look forward to wearing again after the event for which I purchased it for. If you're unsure of your size, I recommend ordering your "normal" size and then a size down so you can return the size you don't need, and then won't have to stress about getting the right size if you're like me and waited until the last minute to buy before you need to wear it!

This is a very pretty cocktail dress. Arrived well packaged and on time. I am 5' 6'', 155 lbs. First I ordered this in a Medium, since many reviews stated this might run a bit large, but not for me... I have quite wide shoulders but only an A cup, so the Medium felt rather tight... Using the free returns offered by the seller, I reordered all 3 colors (black, dark blue and dark red) in a Large size. The inner lining in the bust area is a bit loose for me in the Large, but that is because I am an A cup, so it is not fault of the design, I usually have this problem anyways...Nothing that 10 minutes of alteration/stiching would not solve... B and up will not have this problem... elastic lace outer shell hugs my body well, shoulders stay put, chest and waist area is nice and snug without being constrictive or too tight, shirt falls just below the knee. This dress is very comfortable and looks really pretty on! Black is a must, the dark blue is very elegant and lovely color and the deep red (I 'd probably can call it maroon) is very romantic... I think I might just have to keep all 3! :) Price is very reasonable at under $35, quality is great, I highly recommend this dress and seller!

Just got mine today. Fits perfectly I’m about 5’6” and slim order an x-small Black. The sleeves are a bit of an awkward length, nothing a sewing machine can’t fix, and personally I’d like the skirt a little shorter, once again nothing a sewing machine can’t fix.

Very flattering got tons of compliments but I don’t recommend it for girls with smaller chest sizes ( I’m a 32 A, and wore a small. I was constantly pulling it up in the front all night to try and keep everything covered ) I wore it to a holiday semi formal banquet supper
