    I love these, but...

*by N***L on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 25, 2014*

I have not had good luck with Frye boots. I have always loved them, but they never seem to fit me properly. Heel is too large, length is too small or too loose. Having narrow feet seemed to be an issue too. I tried these just to see one more time and planned on simply returning them if they didn't work. Not a big deal. I put them on and they fit as close to perfect as I could hope! I am a 7.5, and that's what I got with this boot. No heel slippage. The only thing I am worried about is my ankle bone seems to be rubbing against a crease that forms where the exterior buckle is. I am hoping if I wear them around my house a bit the leather will loosen up, because I love them so much. They even smell good. They would be even more perfect if they had more traction on the sole (I would definitely slip and fall if I walked around in these in the city with the icy weather we've been having) - the sole is completely smooth, almost slippery. I suppose a shoemaker could help with that. Also, I'd love a slightly taller heel. I know this is the style of this particular boot, just saying.... The boots are expensive but I would hope that they'll wear for years if properly cared for.EDIT: June 2014: I really do love these - but they are a PAIN to break in. I thought they fit well at first, but It took months. The side of one heel rubbed. The crease across the top rubbed. Also, as mentioned above, the sole is a problem for me. It is very slippery on certain surfaces and I almost fell in an office building lobby once. A boot with traction would have been better since I wore these frequently in wet weather. I wasn't stomping through puddles or 2 feet of snow, but they seemed to handle water well and my feet weren't wet.

    Muscular-calved women, look no further!

I've been on the hunt for a Frye boot that doesn't suck the life out of my calves. Being a martial artist has ensured that I have calves that obviously don't match up with Frye's idea of a woman's calf. The Jayden is a lovely little boot that allows room for my calf at the wider end, but doesn't give me cankles (thick ankles) at the footbed end. The opening and strap even allow room to punch an extra hole or two in the strap to allow maximum calf width, if you need it. I have no problems tucking jeans neatly into this boot. The only drawbacks? The Jayden boot runs a little smaller than my other Fryes (for reference, I have worn a 9.5 in the Philip, Lindsay, and Veronica). For me, I would say it's about a 1/4 to 1/2 size smaller than my other Fryes....not enough for me to go up a half size, although I would recommend that if you prefer to wear thicker boot socks. I did have to order a second pair, since the first pair had a zipper problem (although Amazon was lovely about the return and re-order, as always). This is a timeless, chic boot that still makes your legs look feminine and shapely, a rarity that i've not found anywhere else after trying on dozens of mid-calf boots across all premium brands.

Really cheap looking, not the quality kind of Frye boots

*by E***M on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 5, 2015*

I love Frye boots and in the fall, winter and spring I live in my 12R harness boots - great quality, amazing leather, I keep them mink oiled and can wear them in the rain and snow and they still look great even with a few dings and some weathering. These Jayden Moto Cuff boots on the other hand... I can't even believe they're made by the same company. The leather is thin and cheap and unevenly sewn, the boots feel insubstantial and they're so light weight they could be man made, synthetic fabric instead of leather. If I had just tried them on without knowing how much they cost or which company manufactured them, I'd have guessed they were from Payless or another discount manufacturer. I can't believe they are three hundred plus dollar boots - there is absolutely nothing to warrant the price. As for the fit - I gave them two stars because they did fit me like a glove. I usually wear 8 in Frye boots and 8.5 in all other shoes and boots. I got 8.5 in the Jayden Motos and that was exactly the right size -- so, unlike other Frye boots these are true to size. In fact they fit so well I wish they were better quality, but I was trying them on around the house and I kept thinking: maybe they're not as bad as I thought when I first put them on? - and then I'd look down at them and... sadly, no, they really are cheaply made, thin, papery feeling insubstantial boots.
