By simply snipping off one of the 2 tabs, the dust extractor fits straight onto the base, the securing screw lines up with the hike and is the correct thread, locking it in place. Can't comment on the dust extraction ability as I haven't used it yet, but can only imagine it will work as well as it would on a genuine Makita base.
