It's about as far from our wireless router as it could be and still be in the house. The other I installed in the family, same room as the router. The one on the porch works perfectly, the other one works occasionally. It's not reliable. Going on a trip you can't rely on the lights to work. Usually when I open the app it shows that there is a network connection issue. If you mess around with it you may get it to work for an hour or two. I've removed it from the app, factory reset the switch, etc. The lights on the switch match the pattern the of the functional switch. Tried everything I could think of, and anything I could find online etc. The issue is that it's a pack of two, to return would require uninstalling both, and I would need to get new traditional switches while I waited for a replacement set. Unfortunately my refund window is almost closed, and I'm out of town. Based on my experience I would not recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Easy to set up with SmartLife app and Alexa! *by C***D on Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2018* The set up was easy once installed in the wall switch gang box. Turn the breaker back on and the switch works manually, press the Switch On light for about ten seconds to get the Wi-Fi light to blink rapidly, open the SmartLife app on your phone or tablet and add it as a switch with your Wi-Fi credentials, Rename the switch to something you can remember easily, make sure you have the SmartLife skill enabled for Alexa and tell her to search for device and you now have voice control!If you have basic home electrical know how and have no problem Identifying the Line, Load, Neutral and Ground wires from your old switch the physical installation of this switch is easy to do. But If your not comfortable with installing house electrical switches and outlets you probably should hire someone or get the Family/Friend DIY'er to do that part for you.I will definitely be purchasing more of these! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great now that Issue with wifi resolved through vendor *by C***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2018* Ok. Frustrating start. I bought two of these. I installed one in my closet. Unfortunately, no instructions on how to do that. Had to watch a youtube video. Pretty simple. My box does not have a ground in the wall. It does not appear to be needed. Got the light to work with the on/off switch no problem. Just a slight touch and the switch turns on or off. Could not get the wifi to work at all. Swapped out the switch with the second one. Same problem. Followed all the instructions about turning light on and off. Waiting 10 seconds and then turn off and back on and hold 5 seconds. No help from youtube. The catch to getting it to work is you just have to do a long hard press on the on/off button on the switch plate for about 5-7 seconds, then you will see the wifi blink. Make sure your Smart Life app is ready to add the switch and do a search while wifi is blinking. It will pause for a second and then go blue again in a hold position. Your phone wifi must be set to 2.4gHz wifi. Once it connects it shows up with a numbered name. You can change the name to whatever you want after that. Closet, bedroom, office, etc. Works perfect in my closet where the switch is 2 feet away from door. Makes it so easy to walk into a lighted closet now. Alexa, turn on closet. Had planned on sending the switches back. Lol, the new switch from a different company was not delivered tonight. This vendor just happened to email me with the fix right now. Took 1 minute to get it to work with the new instructions. I can now tell Alexa to turn on the light as I walk into the bathroom.
