Each 1.25" diameter socket contains 54 spring-biased hardened steel pins. When placed onto a fastener the center pins retract and the outer pins surround the fastener. As the fastener is turned the torque is transmitted through the outer pins to the walls of the socket. Fits hex heads 7/16" (12mm) to 1.25" (32mm). 1/2" drive. Review: Recommended - Excellent. I have a 2000 Landrover Discovery. As is common with these, the wheel nuts have distorted. Was told at garage that they could remove, but may not get them back on properly. I got new wheel nuts & tried to remove old ones. Lump hammer & socket. Got 1 off, but the nut is still in the socket. Not wanting to buy a socket for each nut, I looked around & found this. It was delivered in a couple of days (thanks). May seem expensive for a socket, but worth every penny. I used this with my torque wrench. hint #1. put the socket onto the nut before putting the handle on. gives a secure fit. Wheel nut came off with no more effort than should be. Swapped all the nuts over no problem. hint #2: use this to loosen the nut, then remove. As this is really for releasing damaged nuts etc. replace the old/damaged one & use a standard socket to tighten them. You have center it well, regards **Q: I was wondering will it work on a round body made of 303 I work at a machine shop and I have to mill a hex pattern** A: I am not positive because I am the wife of the recipient but, I have been wanting to get him one for years, the original Gator Grip that being said, he has stripped nuts before to where they were practically round and has come across some practically round and this puppy gripped them and did the job. I don't see why it wouldn't work on a hex pattern, if you look at it? it is already showing like a six corner start on it. The only thing he said he would change about this tool? Is it won't go into tight places but, he was working on a PT cruiser, that should tell you something.
