I do not know why the grocery stores carry only rather horrible couscous mixes full of various dried ingredients that just get in the way. Plain couscous has become nearly impossible to find. There is an entire world of flavor difference when you start with a good product. Unless you plan on using this in one meal, plan to store it in a glass jar with a tight lid as the plastic wrapping is temporary at best. Mine was carefully packaged from desertcart. Take of the cover, pour into pot 1 1/4 cups water or broth. Add a little salt if you are not using broth. Add a little butter or olive oil. Turn on heat. Bring water or broth to a boil and gently stir in 1 cup of couscous. Cover the pot. Turn off burner and remove pot from the burner. Allow to sit for 5 - 7 minutes. Take cover off pot. Couscous will have a dry, congealed, lumpy texture. Fluff up with a fork, getting rid of all the lumps.
