Slicing bread with a knife is a skill that can be learned but this provides a consistency that is very difficult to achieve by hand and makes it simple. I bought this after watching several videos which made this seem the most sturdy option among several similarly functioning manual slicers. I considered a folding one and another one that appears very similar to this one but is cheaper and made of plastic. Those both seemed to flex and bend while this one did not. This is the "upgraded metal" version of a slicer which is sold under more than one name and made with plastic parts. I can say this is substantial and sturdy and I suspect worth the additional cost over the plastic version. The thickness adjustment is easy and consistent and slicing is very uniform so long as the loaf is fed into the blade properly. I find the suction cups to be more than adequate. It does not slide on my counter. It slices very well and easily. I see from product videos that many people aren't using these slicers very efficiently and I offer these tips if you're having trouble: turn the crank faster and smoothly and have it up to speed before you feed it the loaf. Be careful about pushing the bread at funny angles which will cause uneven thickness. Push it gently from front to back, not down or hard against the face of the blade. I suspect that people who complain about the bread tearing at the end of the cut are not actually feeding the loaf all the way through and are stopping before the bottom of the loaf has fully cleared the blade. If slicing more than one piece, let the second slice clear the previous slice rather than pulling each slice, one at a time, from behind the blade.

This has truly been a game changer. It’s very lightweight, but don’t let that fool you—it feels sturdy and holds up well while slicing. One of my favorite features is the suction cups on the bottom of the base. They keep it securely in place on the countertop, so it doesn’t slide around while you’re cutting. It makes slicing much easier and gives me nice, even slices compared to cutting by hand. It’s simple to use, and because it’s so lightweight, it’s easy to move and store when I’m finished. Overall, this is a practical kitchen tool that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. If you’re looking for an affordable bread slicer that stays stable during use, I definitely recommend it.

What a game changer! No uneven slices and no nicked fingers. Arrived ready to use. Suction cups keep it firmly in place on the counter while we sliced through six loaves of freshly baked sourdough. Simple to use and each slice came out perfectly. The adjustability of the blade allows for even the thinnest of slices. So happy with this purchase.

a friend showed me this... I got home and ordered it right away... my daughter makes bread, so good BUT to cut it we had tried different bread knives and its all such a hassle. To hold the bread, to cut the bread to NOT lose any fingers, to get a nice straight cut, to get the width you want to fit in a toaster. Well this Brvclon Manual Slicer is a GAME changer. No more guessing, no more hassle.. cuts so smooth and with hardly any effort. Love the suction cups on the bottom, love the adjustable control. Its one of the best investments for bread making that a lot of folks overlook. But after you make the fine bread, its so nice to cut it in a professional manner and really enjoy!!! what a great item

It's very fun to use. With that being said, It's very easy to use, and slices your bread nicely. The slicer suctions to your can and does not move around. Seems to be made very well, and they do send you a tool if you need to tighten anything back in place. It's a great price point for anyone making their own bread.

I grew up in Europe where many, if not most households have a bread slicer like this, but I could never find one in the US. Came across this one which has an appropriate price tag. Slicing bread looks great and works very well - against my expectation, since the blade is relatively tame and (fortunately) not as sharp as the machine I remember from my childhood. There is a big scale printed on the wood which makes little sense as the slice thickness goes no-where near the outer end (why..? what about baguettes..?), and the opposite end of the scale on the left side makes no sense whatsoever. Printing or carving a couple of dots instead of the precision scale would have done the trick for me. The machine is pretty compact, sits stable on its suction cups, and the overall design look pretty sturdy to me. Maybe a quick release of the blade would have made sense for cleaning, but that's just an idea for the next version. The consistent slices of bread I can now cut in much less time, and the clever little slice holder on the output side make me happy :)

I bought this because I wanted an easier and more consistent way to slice homemade sourdough, and for the price, it does exactly that. The thickness adjustment is useful, the blade is very sharp, and it cuts through a crusty sourdough loaf easily and consistently. So far, I’m very happy with it. There are a few things I’d look for if I were spending more on a higher-end model. The board surface could be larger—as you can see from my photos, a full-size sourdough boule overhangs the edges. A built-in crumb tray or catcher would also make cleanup easier, and I’d prefer a heavier overall construction with nonslip feet. Because this slicer is relatively lightweight, it uses suction cups to secure it to the countertop. They work well and keep it stable while cutting, so this isn’t really a complaint—just something I’d expect to be improved on a more expensive model. For the price, though, it works very well and does exactly what I bought it for. I’m very happy with the purchase so far.
