So purchased this DYE put it in and went for about a 50KM drive. Brought it home, jacked it up and had a look in the dark using a black-light flashlight. Lots of oil around the pan is why I originally thought that was the leak source. Using the black light, the DYE outlined that the leak was coming from a much higher spot and flowng down on to the pan giving the illusion that the oil pan was at fault when in fact it was not. That way you can drive your vehicle for however long. Probably a good 2 days, drain the oil/ fix the problem, then refill with fresh oil. **Q: do you really need the yellow goggle to see the dye?** A: I had no problems seeing the dye without the glasses. **Q: can this dye be mixed with mineral oil and used in smoke test machines** A: The answer is yes. I used it in my smoke machine to test an engine in my 1996 BMW Z3 1.9. It worked fine. **Q: So i just pour all of this bottle into engine oil and look with blacklight?** A: Thats exactly what I did to locate a hard to find oil leak.
