Review: Comparing the Active with the Classic - I want to start by saying I resisted buying this. I work out daily for at least an hour including some combination of distance swimming (1.5 miles), cycling, stepper, hiking or walking and hatha yoga. The thought of any kind of water aerobics has never appealed to me. But then I somehow managed to aggravate both my shoulder and knee (tendinitis?) at the same time. Suddenly I was unable to do any of it without pain. A friend at the pool was kind enough to let me try out her AquaJogger Classic and, as fate would have it, there just happened to be an AquaJogger Active in the free bin that day. So I got to use and compare both. Honestly, apart from the elastic belt (which I hear stretches out over time) on the Classic and that it may be all of 1/4" thicker, I really could see no difference, so I purchased the Active because it was about $15 cheaper. So far I've used it twice. I'm 5'9" and weigh 130 lbs. The belt keeps me buoyant, so I'm confused by reviews from people who weigh a lot more than I do and say they can't keep buoyant with the belt. Unless all that extra weight is pure muscle, they should stay afloat better than I do :-) I have the belt on the tightest setting. I haven't had problems with it riding up as others have commented on (I wonder if they have the belt looped through correctly). I did tie a knot on one side to ensure it doesn't slide out of place. The first time I used it, I had my 2 mill Roxy Popsurf wetsuit jacket on which not only kept the belt from sliding up AT ALL, but kept my skin protected. I'm sure a rash guard or even just a plain T-shirt would work. The second time I used it, I had just my open back swim suit on and got a bit of a contact rash from the foam so maybe I'll go back to wearing a shirt or wetsuit top. I was surprised that I got a much better work out than I thought I would doing water jogging and Nordic track laps. It doesn't feel as aerobic as swimming, but it's definitely a good muscle worker. I also liked that because my head and shoulders were out of the water, I didn't lose as much body heat as I sometimes do when I'm lap swimming (the pool I swim in is often chilly - maybe 79 degrees). All in all I'd say it's a nice piece of gear at a fairly decent price (what doesn't have at least a 300% mark-up these days). I recommend it. And, no, I was not paid or compensated in any way for writing this review :-)
Review: Exercise with knee osteoarthritis (purchased from desertcart) - My knee with osteoarthritis was over worked with too much exercise (I'm on a diet that requires a lot of exercise) and I still needed to burn calories. I heard about jogging in the pool when you have an injury to your leg so I decided to try the aquajogger belt to help me stay afloat while I tried jogging in the pool. I can swim, but I'm not a strong swimmer, but I tried the aquajogger and I was amazed that I could keep my face above the water level and still jog in the deep water without having pain in the knee (one with osteoarthritis). At first I did not jog too fast but after 4 weeks of daily jogging in the water, my leg muscles have gotten stronger. With the osteoarthritis, I did not use my left leg too much since I would have pain. I'm 65 which I feel is the time for my body to fall apart, but with the aquajogger helping me to build muscle in my legs, I think that I'm not going to fall apart as fast. I have a massage monthly and my massage therapist was amazed that my my legs now have muscles (before it was just flabby fat). I water jog everyday and it has really help with my everyday walking and decreased the osteoarthritis (in my knee) pain. I would think that it's not for everyone and you need to check with you doctor first, but if you have knee pain, it could help you decrease the pain (as it did for me). Just to give you a little history on my knee pain: I had arthroscopic knee surgery 2 years ago and after the surgery, I found out the I also had osteoarthritis in my knee so the pain did not improve at all. I had the 3 shots (the fluid and I don't know the name) in my knee and it helped a lot with the pain, but my knee was still weak and would experience pain if I over used it (so I did not use it much).

## Features

- ACTIVE BELT: The Active Belt is our most economical model. It provides exceptional comfort and suspends you at shoulder level in deep water allowing you to breathe normally and move freely while performing a wide variety of water exercises. The contoured shape of the belt ensures a snug fit around the waist, allowing users to maintain proper posture and form while aqua jogging. Foam dimensions 25 ½” length 11” width 1 3/8” thick
- RECOVER FASTER: In the water your Musculo-skeletal system is no longer bearing weight, so it can be recovering from all the pounding of your land-based programs while you focus your conditioning on the cardio-pulmonary system. No pounding…no impact
- NO IMPACT RUNNING: Your body weighs about 10% of its land weight when up to your neck in water. If you weigh 200 lbs. when standing on land, you weigh only 20 lbs. in water. With the addition of a buoyancy belt like the AquaJogger, you can run with your head comfortably out of water, breathe normally, and accomplish most of the same workouts you perform on land
- PATENTED DESIGN: Our patented contoured design tones abdominal muscles and supports and strengthens the lower back. Whether used in a pool, lake, or other aquatic settings, the AquaJogger Active Belt is versatile and adapts to various water environments. Its design allows users to engage in effective aqua jogging sessions in different settings, providing a flexible and enjoyable exercise experience. Includes 52" non-elastic adjustable belt that clips and unclips easily

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can i use this belt for swimming not fot stationary swimming**
A: Not totally sure what you mean......but I swim laps in my pool everyday with it. There's really nothing stationary about it......you get in the water and do whatever you want to do. It's just easier to keep afloat. I am not a strong swimmer but this helps me more than I can say.

**Q: What belt will fit the widest waist?**
A: This is what the Aquajogger website says:The AquaJogger Active Belt dimensions are 25 1/2 inches in length, 11 inches in width and 1 3/8 inches in thickness. What's more, the belt can accommodate most body shapes with its adjustable strap accommodating waistlines of 19 inches up to 48 inches. Longer belts are also availableHere is the website: http://www.aquagear.com/aquajogger-active-belt/It says that they have other sizes, so you need to check the website to see which one is best for you. Hope this helps

**Q: does this product come in sizes or just one size fits all**
A: One size fits all. But they have extenders that you can get from the company if you call. This makes it wider if it is too narrow for your foot.

**Q: I'm 5ft weigh 95lb will this work for me?**
A: I think it will. My waist is 40" and it wraps a little more than halfway. I really like the belt, lightweight and not bulky.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thrilled with my Active AquaJogger
*by S***A on April 14, 2017*

I received my AquaJogger today and after reading the Workout Guide (very thorough and informative) that was included, I immediately went to the pool to try it out. First of all, I'm really afraid of water so I made this purchase with a bit of trepidation. I've been suffering with Plantar fasciitis and took up water aerobics since I couldn't do my regular workouts. However, since my feet touch the bottom of the pool, albeit with low impact and while wearing water shoes, my foot was sore afterwards. A friend recommended I purchase a water belt so that I could jog in the water without my feet touching the bottom. I was afraid even though I read all the reviews where customers stated that your head stays above the water, but I know that I could drown just from the fear of drowning. If I can't feel the bottom of the pool with my feet, I panic. And since I'm always alone at the pool, who would save me? Well today I told myself I would take my time to gain confidence, a suggestion I found in the guidebook. I'm very happy to report that this belt works perfectly. I was even able to tread water in only 4.5 ft. In 5 ft I was able to jog but I wasn't comfortable moving too far from the edge so I did a jog in place routine. I'm sure that I'll eventually make it to the 6 ft end, but right now I'm happy with my baby steps. This belt would be a great aid in learning how to swim as well. I highly recommend the AquaJogger for its functionality and comfort.
