Worse than just using bare hands. I would never use them for games, but I'm using them for practice and they keep focused on making sure I cover up the ball completely.Also the glove size runs a bit big. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great gloves! *by U***2 on September 4, 2011* My son, who is a varsity goalie for his high school soccer team, received these gloves for Christmas last year. He had been wanting a pair of practice gloves so that he didn't wear out his expensive gloves (which he only wore for games). He loved these gloves! In fact, he ended up wearing them for some of his games too. After a season of indoor soccer, spring select soccer, a goalie camp, and summer training, the gloves were worn out. They were literally shredded! I know they didn't last quite a year, but they did get lots of use and abuse. My son loved these so much that we ordered another pair in August, just in time for high school soccer season. If you're looking for a good pair of inexpensive goalie gloves, my son says that you won't be disappointed in these.
