To file a claim, you must ship the defective item back to the company, and the return shipping alone costs over $20. A brand-new replacement costs less than the return shipping, which makes the warranty nothing more than a marketing gimmick. This is extremely misleading to consumers. A warranty should protect the customer—not force them to spend more money than the product is worth just to receive a replacement.
