The starter set I purchased from MasonTops came with 4 glass weights, but it became very apparent that more were needed.After all, when one weight is "in use" in a jar - it may very well be there for a month (or longer depending on what the ferment is). I also realized that proper design that includes a good surface to grip onto for removing the weight was critical. While the MasonTop weights are wonderful, they are also quite expensive. (prohibitively so if you are looking for more than 4)I came across these (Kinwell) at a good price for 8. I also liked the design of the middle "stem" (the center part of the weight in the recess that your finger will grip to remove the weight from the mason jar). So, I took a chance and ordered a box. When they arrived I opened and inspected them and was surprised at the quality of both the weight, as well as the packaging to store them in.These performed very well in actual use.
