Capillary Blood Glucose (CBG) that is done using a glucometer is only to know an approximate number. This is to keep watch on side effects of medicines which could lead to hypoglycemia or lack of medicines which could cause hyperglycaemia. Blood drawn from veins (venous blood) is always preferred to get accurate values. Moreover a specific pattern is followed by the labs. CBG shows variable levels if taken from different parts of the body at the same time. Also varies based on activities and diet intake. You cannot go by CBG readings on a serious level. It is only for having a reference and range check approximately. Coming to dr.morpen, like any other glucometer it does it job very well. Just make sure you use the strips properly without touching the crutial areas and also change the batteries every now and then. I will not say it is the best in market.
