## Description

Season 1: Stand back ignorant Earth filth, or be prepared to... get really hurt. Disguised as an earthling child, albeit one with a green complexion that he explains away as a "skin condition," and accompanied by GIR, his faithful, intelligence-gathering robot, INVADER ZIM has come to assume control of Earth and its annoying inhabitants. But alas, a wrench has been tossed into ZIM's devious plan. A wrench with a name: Dib, a 'pitiful human' obsessed with the paranormal. This abhorrent creature is the only human recognizing ZIM as the potential threat that he is. And Dib will stop at nothing to expose him.Season 2: He's INVADER ZIM, sent by the ALMIGHTY TALLEST, leaders of the planet IRK, on a mission of DOOM... This may be ZIM's last chance to prove himself to his leaders. After all, the vertically-challenged ZIM failed miserably at his first planet invasion attempt because he couldn't see over the control panels of his vehicle. ZIM hasn't completed his mission, which is good news for you, Earthling. Because that means you can watch another season of INVADER ZIM! Will ZIM finally succeed on his mission of doom!?When sold by .com, this product will be manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. .com's standard return policy will apply.

    Superior Screen Quality

*by N***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 7, 2010*

I just purchased the new DVDs and could not be happier. I prefer them much better than the older 2004-2005 versions which I also own. Anyone who claims the video quality of the 2010 DVD-Rs vs the original 2004-2005 DVDs have provided no examples of this disparity. I have owned both and scene for scene the DVD-Rs appear superior to me based on the depth of the color. I think those who have reviewed to the contrary did not purchase the new DVD-Rs. They may be confusing the effect of compression when someone attempts to cram a 7 or 8 GB movie onto a 4.5 GB DVD-R. Compressed video on a DVD-R may be inferior. This is not the case as both the previous version and these new version come on 6 discs, there is no compression. As stated by Amazon, the video is the same quality and why wouldn't it be. How would your DVD player tell the difference between digitized data on a DVD-R vs a DVD?The big advantage of these new DVDs however is that they are offered in a 16X9 aspect ratio instead of the orginial 4X3 format. In other words the video fills the entire screen on a modern tv and do not have the black bars on the sides that the earlier versions have. So unless you own a square tv or are a Zim Zealot, save the $100 it would take to purchase the older DVDs or paying 10 to 12 X as much to get an extras disc and a DVD box (and a GIR doll) and purchse the new DVDs. If you are lucky enough to own the original boxed set (with the GIR doll) consider treating it as a collectible and purchase these new discs for the better aspect ratio, which will appeal to a much wider audience.

Graphic and Abrasive but also Innovative

*by J***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 14, 2011*

As abrasive and sometimes unsettling this program was it was un-conventional but in the sense that it could take television animation into bold new directions. The personalities are all erratic reminiscent of Johann Vasquezz graphic novels and his pessimistic style. The redeeming qualities is that for all the pessimism there are funny vignettes within every episode that are while anarchic are pure guilty pleasures. A naive alien who thinks he has this unparalleled purpose turns out to be an outcast among his kind. He pars with a mentally deficient robot and has an adversary in a paranoid paranormal investigator who doesn't convince anyone that hes an alien along with his bi-polar sister susceptible to change her mood if she is messed with. These personalities are so withdrawn from reality that it is really something to laugh at instead of taking it seriously to any extent and this is were the enjoyment comes from.Invader Zim has no dramatic elements every scene no matter how vital will have some sophomoric gag. In some cases its abrasiveness can be off-putting the faint of heart would give this program a fairly low rating. Though for people with tolerance and a sense of humor this is worth watching. It is a breath of fresh air Johann does not adhere to the expectations that executives have on what makes a true cartoon work. He is un-conventional, inventive and the characters can fit almost all narratives. Please bring this back onto the air.

good but not the perfect package

*by C***J on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 4, 2010*

if your looking for the complete series then your in luck if your looking for the complete series and more you may want to skip this one. now don't get me wrong it's it's a good package i love the show but the dvd menus are bland and boring only allowing to play all and select an episode, i've seen way more options in nicktoons dvds. also the dvds look cheaply made they are really easy to scratch too, i've had a sponge bob dvd that looks like freddy krueger has been handling it for year and it works with no lag, but these i had for a week and it's so scratched it skips an entire episode. one thing that really pissed me off is that season 2 costs the same and doesn't even have half of the episodes season 1 has, viacom is basically trying to make more money off of a canceled tv show that they are still marketing strongly on (just walk into any hot topic) but what fans really is just for the show to come back and make new episodes. now just because of these flaws does not mean it's a bad package i love this show it's one of my favorite shows ever but don't expect the biggest fan serves from this package. many people may say the show will never makes new episodes again but hey look at futurerama and it's on a viacom owned station, so there might be a slim chance that the show might come back (lets keep our fingers crossed).
