My uses are usually to release glues and retaining compounds on steel components, but I have also used the soldering iron, and the attachment for hot air to shrink heat shrink tubing. As rebuilding of WWII crashed aircraft there's just no end to the needs of instant heat to solder heavy amp connectors to thawing out frozen device to restoring Freewheel on very classic Schwinn bike that saved a fortune simply heating Freewheel and it curred the issue of stuck pawls making Freewheel spin in both directions making it no longer possible to drive the rear wheel. Now because of laps of memory with heating shield in place, I accidently thought heating shield screwed off the tip cs simply slide off causing the tip to tear out the spark lead to fire up the torch. Not sure if I can make the repair myself, but I'd like to see if mfg can help me out with this crisis. Thanks Again for a wonderful tool very nicely made. I purchased bullet proof Pelican 1060 water proof case to keep him in. He deserves it.
