The direction the motor turns depends on which pin is hooked to the positive and negative terminal of the battery. You cannot change the direction of the motor unless you switch the wires leading to the battery. **Q: How can I attach cardboard to the shafts of these motors?** A: The motor has a fairly high RPM. I attached pulleys that were made for the diameter size of the shaft. I would question whether a piece of cardboard could be attached firmly to the shaft so that the shaft just doesn't spin in the hole. **Q: Is the shaft perfectly round or is there a flat edge?** A: The shaft is perfectly round. The other components like fans and pulleys are easily force fit on the shaft. I never found any problem with the components on the shaft slipping. **Q: Can the motor go underwater?** A: I do not believe it could. The components seem well made. I do find it takes a bit of muscle to insert and turn the motor into the motor mount. I have some concern that the RPM's of the motor may be too great for a gear of pulley driven car model and have not found much that would give a good drive reduction.
