Phosphor Bronze strings are precision wound onto a carefully drawn, hexagonally-shaped high carbon steel core. The result is lasting, vivid sound with excellent intonation. HEX CORE CONSTRUCTION The precision drawn hex core was pioneered by D’Addario, to allow the wrap wire to grip the core. STRING WINDING TECHNOLOGY String winding equipment built by D'Addario creates between 500,000 and 700,000 strings per day. WIRE DRAWING D'Addario's wire drawing machines produce wire to our specs, yielding high performance products.

I have tried Ernie Ball phosphor bronze which do not last long as Daddario's.. If you play regularly, they will easily last upto 4 months, until they get rusted. Tuning stability is good, but initially they might get detuned due to phosphor coating slippage. Bass and treble response are well balanced, hence you will enjoy the sound more while strumming. To check for original daddario, always remember that there will a matt rubber type coating on the packet surface and inside packet, there will be a unique code which you can verify on official daddario site.

I have been using Daddario phosphor bronze from last 5 years. Excellent sound quality in budget range... I have tried Ernie Ball phosphor bronze which do not last long as Daddario's.. If you play regularly, they will easily last upto 4 months, until they get rusted. Tuning stability is good, but initially they might get detuned due to phosphor coating slippage. Bass and treble response are well balanced, hence you will enjoy the sound more while strumming.
