Just a tip when trying to freeze glass jars -- never fill above where the shoulder curves in--that is more likely to cause the jar to crack. The metal lids are of course best for canning, but what I tend to do is make pickles. The pickles barely last a couple of weeks and so a lid that I can just wash and reuse without it getting rusty or gross is exactly what I want. I suppose if you are worried about chemicals leaking out of plastic, then this isn’t the product for you. As far as I’m concerned, these are economical, reusable and durable. The plastic is sturdy and you can desinfect in the dishwasher. Plus they don’t rust.
