5 Quarts of haydite. Haydite is a fired, expanded shale that has basically everything you want for your bonsai. It keeps soil "loose" by increasing porosity. It's porosity allows it to retain water as often even with other very porous soils. It encourages better root development and growth.This is mixed grain sizes - small and medium grains.
