They will indeed give you a slight performance edge mainly in fuel economy, slight but definite. Do not expect the engine to feel like you have grafted another cylinder onto it but it does reduce the effort the engine takes to pull air so this energy now goes to fuel savings instead of just pulling air. They do a better job of filtering than a paper filter and they last longer and hold more dirt. A dirty K&N had less differential pressure across it than a clean paper filter. These easily pay for themselves in just filter costs over the life of any vehicle. The paper filter for my Cayenne costs almost the same as this K&N. It is a no brainer.
