The adhesive seems strong enough. May have issues with the corners raising up down the road, but for 5 bucks (for two pieces) who can really complain about that? As far as the texture, it's a bit rougher than you'd expect. It's more like a rough grit sandpaper than something rubbery like a Talon or Foxx grip. It definitely will grip to your hand, no doubt about that. And it also looks pretty nice on your gun, too. So that's a bonus if asthetics are important to you. I have a single stack TRP with the front checkering but may slap this on the front of it, too. The grip is definitely "grippy."
