With 12 control tubes per box, each box treats about 1/4 acre of property per application. Tick Tubes work with nature to reduce the tick population, are environmentally friendly and have been evaluated by the EPA for safety. Apply twice a year for best results, the best time to apply is late-April and late-July before young ticks begin feeding. Place the tubes flat on the ground in brush-covered and wooded areas with a maximum distance of ten yards between tubes. Treatment should be in areas inhibited by mice; position the tubes so mice have access to the open ends. Kids are most at risk of Lyme given the time they spend playing in tick habitat. A: The best time to apply the tick tubes is in April or May, with a second application in July.

**Q: Where do I place the Tick Tubes?**
A: We recommend placing tick tubes around your entire property. Place tubes in protected places mice are likely to frequent such as inside sheds, under decks, along stonewalls, or under bushes.

**Q: What happens if it rains and the tubes get wet?**
A: Tick Tubes are still effective if they get wet. The coating on the outside of the tubes protects them from rain. If the cotton does get wet, it will dry out once the weather improves. Don’t place tubes in areas likely to flood.

**Q: Is it safe for cats/dogs, if they eat the mice or cotton?**
A: The US EPA has no published reports, nor records of any incidents associated with the use of permethrin-treated tick tubes. The amount of permethrin used to treat cotton in our Tick Tubes is well below any level of concern.

**Q: Is it safe to use around children?**
A: The US EPA has determined it reasonable to assume no harm to infants and children based on the existing data for permethrin.

Our yard was overrun with ticks. As in, my kids were forbidden to walk on the grass. A short walk from one end of the yard to the other and you'd have no less than 7 or 8 ticks. I refuse to choose between living with toxic chemicals living in my lawn or the ticks, but I was getting pretty desperate. Thankfully I found these tubes which (I think) are working. We have just over an acre in a rural setting with woods lining one side of our property. At the end of the summer I purchased the 24 pack and placed them throughout our property, along the woods, mostly areas that looked like a critter would hang out. This spring I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT reduction in ticks, as in we've only had two ticks so far, and I've actually been allowing my kids to play in the grass. I honestly didn't think they would work, especially since not all of the cotton was taken from all of the tubes, but these are the only difference between this year and last year. I just purchased another box of 24 and set them out today. I say it's worth a try!!
