Great product. We ordered two after spotting some baby rats in our garden. After a bit of investigating, we discovered one had been nesting in our planters. We chose these traps because there are lots of outdoor cats and wildlife around us, so we didn't want to use poison. I'm against killing any animal where possible, but with young children playing in the garden, I felt removing the rats was the safer option. The traps appeared to dispatch the rats instantly and as humanely as possible, which was the most important thing for me. They were also very easy to empty thanks to the pull-tie system, and the included spare ties make them reusable. We baited them with peanut butter and a little chocolate and caught two good-sized rats within a week. After removing the nest, the rat problem has completely disappeared. Overall, I'd definitely recommend these traps if you're looking for an effective alternative to poison. They come with instructions feel sturdy and durable and are not too sensitive to falsely trigger.

My elderly neighbour caught a rat in one like this but I have only caught 2 mice, one of which was pinned down and still alive so in terms of a quick painless dispatch of smaller vermin I wouldn't give it any stars. However I like the fact the trap is contained within the box and can be set from the outside and any caught vermin disposed of straight into a bag without the need to touch the trap. It also has a lockable lid making it ideal if you have children or pets with the key stored on the box. I have purchased this after buying something similar before but that didn't come with extra straps or keys to replace any broken or lost trap straps or keys which this one did.

Initially I was dubious about these traps as they had been down several days without any success. I’ve actually got cameras over seeing the area where they were & it irked me to watch 8 hours worth of footage of the rodents literally sitting on top of them but at no point sticking their heads in. I’d tried peanut butter, chocolate & biscuits to no avail. To say I was getting frustrated was an understatement as we also have 4 bait boxes out & the same again. The rats will stand on them to reach other areas but won’t take the bait. Being as j appear to have the healthiest rats ever living in my garden I decided to bait the boxes with the bird seed they keep breaking into containers to steal. Apparently that was the bait that works - aniseed flavoured bird seed. Who knew. So once I’d put some seed inside the trap I had 2 rats in under 12 hours. No idea how many more are left but I’ll keep the traps out for a while to be sure. So, because I keep birds I didn’t want anyone sticking their heads into these as they are not going to keep a curious bird out, so it was important to ensure they were out of reach at all times, as I don’t want to have any injuries or worse to something that these are not intended for. It’s also worth noting if you happen to have larger rodents then their death throes will literally bounce these traps several feet. I noticed the first one was not where I left it once triggered but the second one was caught on camera & whilst it’s fair to say I’m sure that death is quick as it appears to indeed snap the neck, the animal still thrashes about in the first few seconds & as such if they are not secured then expect to find them moved once triggered. Pleased to report that emptying & resetting is quick & easy & a dog poop bag is an ideal size to dispose of said dispatched rodents. The boxes are easy enough to get into but I cannot get the key back into the holder which is frustrating but not the end of the world. Not sure how I can clean the peanut butter out of them but that’s a problem I’ll worry about later as I’ll perhaps try hosing them out or maybe a blast with the pressure washer will suffice. My only suggestion for improvement (aside from the key thing) would be the red cable tie that’s used for setting/releasing is perhaps not ideal for someone with grip issues as it’s hard to hold if you have arthritis. I struggled a few times to grip it & pull it back enough to click into place so maybe something on the end like a bead would be better to allow people to grip it easier. But for the money they have worked out cheaper than the bait boxes & more effective with 2 confirmed kills in a short space of time once the right bait was found.

I spread this poison under my decking after seeing some holes under. It will work few days after they will eat, But i must say it's absolutely inhumane. Three rats died in our garden in front of our eyes, at different days, in our garden, where kids and dogs are running around. When poison starts working (3-4days), they lose their orientation, vision, and hearing, because they don't run away, they will come out of hiding outside, and they die like that few hours squeaking and trying to move.. The ones that were in my garden came out onto the grass in the middle of the day, in the sun, barely moving, and completely unconcerned about humans. And I must say.. It's terrifying to see and hear(!) them squealing as they die in terrible agony.... that was a terrible experience for me and i didn't expect this 🫣.. I'm too sensitive for that, and I wrote this only to warn people as sensitive as I am about what might happen. I'm giving 4 stars, cause the poison works, but i won't buy it again I guess, will look for something more humane..

They work! You get two for the price. Ive only given a 4 as one box I can't get click closed again. I'm very wary but there's actually no way I could get snapped from the outside. Unfortunately I've found out more than one morning they've done the job. It's a bit fiddly getting the corpse out as it wants to snap again with the weight still on the plate. Solution is one person pulls the tab to open it and second person helps corpse out. I say instant death so dont worry about pain for the animal. I'm really loathe to kill them but relocating hasn't worked here x

Gerne möchte ich ein Update zu meiner ersten Bewertung geben. Empfindliche Menschen möchte ich warnen, bevor sie weiterlesen. Nachdem ich fünf Ratten gefangen hatte (vier kleinere und eine große), hat die letzte noch lebende Ratte, die ich im Garten herumhuschen sah (eine sehr große, wahrscheinlich ein Elterntier) die Fallen, die ich auf dem Laufweg in beide Richtungen aufgestellt hatte, eine Woche lang argwöhnisch gemieden. Damit muss man also rechnen, denn Ratten sind sehr schlau. Zum Glück konnte ich das Nest bzw. ein Rattenloch im Garten ausfindig machen. Also habe ich beide Fallen direkt um das Loch herumgestellt und so mit Steinen und Brettern umbaut, dass die Ratte keine andere Möglichkeit hatte, als sich in eine der Öffnungen zu bewegen, die ich zusätzlich auch von außen mit Erdnussbutter bestrichen habe. Und gleich am nächsten Morgen war die Ratte in die Falle gegangen. Sie war so groß, dass ihr gesamtes Hinterteil samt Schwanz aus dem Kasten heraushing, auf diesen unschönen Anblick muss man sich also bei sehr großen Tieren einstellen. Aufgrund ihrer Größe fiel sie beim Entspannen der Falle auch nicht einfach heraus, weil sie in der Öffnung feststeckte. Ich musste also die Falle notgedrungen öffnen und nachhelfen. Für zartbesaitete Menschen ist dies sicher nichts. Dennoch bleibt es für mich bei 5 Sternen, weil ich am Zustand der Ratte gesehen habe, dass sie trotz ihrer Größe dank der enormen Schlagkraft der Falle sofort tot war und nicht leiden musste (Genickbruch).

Gefangen habe ich noch keine, sber top einfach und man muss nichts ausser die Box abfassen.
