There was one more they gave for free which was the good luck tree and its been alive. Don't buy! **Q: What type of soil is best for the avocado tree when placing in a large pot?** A: I just planted it with top soil you buy a loews **Q: Will they produce at this age.?** A: too young and small. will produce within 1-3 years, whereas a seedling will take 10-15 years to produce. **Q: How can i protect it from freezing weather after it is planted?** A: We planted ours in a large pot and plan on bringing it in every winter along with our lime and lemon trees. It won't survive the winter here, I live in Ky. I believe the Avocado tree is meant for tropical weather, so if it was me, I would not plant it in the ground.
