    Useless, not worth the money.

Great Writing 5 is pretentiously advertised as being the ultimate guide in writing academic essays. It does not meet the expectations, though.Firstly, the book abounds in many pages that are either half blank or fully lined (no content really). The user is supposed to fill in those spaces and complete some writing tasks, but there is NO guidance how to do this.  Then, there are (arguably interesting) photographs spread on two pages (chapter title pages), but these just take up space.The book is tedious to use. Some tasks are dull and repetitive when not laughable. For example Post-Reading on page 7: ‘write the number of the introduction paragraph’, ‘write the number of the body paragraph’ , ‘write the number of the conclusion paragraph’.  Example of simple sentences on page 211: ‘I have a cat.’, ‘my cat is gray.’ At this stage - from great essays to research – learners are likely to have learnt at least the basics if not several features of academic writing.The book is well printed on good quality paper and it came in good condition.In conclusion, this book is not really useful and it is not worth the money. If I had had the chance to browse it more, I would not have bought it.

I liked this book. It has everything starting from writing a hook in the introduction to the conclusion.This book came with a code which had additional practice activities.
