I'm a HUGE fan of the Thundercats, having grown up when the original series was on. Even had some of the toys when I was a kid, (no longer have any unfortunately. ) But..the series was fun, taught lessons and the animation was excellent. I appreciate the fact that this series was done at a time when things weren't computer animated, people animated this show with their hands, the technique for animation for this show and others similar to it, from 1985 to 1992, were still largely done by hand and in a painstaking, to me thoughtful way. The quality and even at times the errors we as viewers sometimes see make it special. Also actors brought these characters to life, so much work to bring these shows to life. Shows like this are worth a watch, and may even teach you a few lessons along the way.

Another great series that I watched online and fell in love with and had to buy. I'm currently watching the original series so I cannot say for sure how closely the 2011 version resembles the original (or would have if the 2011 version had been allowed to continue), but so far I have had a blast with both. The one thing I really love about this series is how you could see Lion-O grow as a character and his altering perspectives that shape him into the wonderful leader he's meant to be (as well as the changes in the lives of his friends and family) with some "spiritual" guidance from a old friend/mentor. [Small SPOILERS AHEAD regarding the introduction to the story] The 2011 series is different from the original where Lion-O was just a 12 yr old (son of the previous lord of the Thundercats) who, travelling to a new home (Third Earth) after their old home planet Thundera was destroyed. Their ship was attacked and their warp/hyper-drive was damaged where travel to their new home would have them perish from old age. So, the team had to stay in stasis pods that greatly slow aging but not stop it (hence why Lion-O then became a "young man" (24 I think)) where he and the current members of the Thundercats try to establish a new home. In the 2011 series Lion-O was a prince (what I presume to be a young adult) to a great/powerful then fallen kingdom named Thundera on a planet called Third Earth. After the fall of Thundera, they set out on a quest to locate a relic to help them in their struggle. Either iteration you watch, you'll not be disappointed as you'll get a different taste with each one. But personally, I like the universe of the 2011 series currently because how they differentiate between the species and creatures and bind them to one planet [Third Earth] in a way that makes a lot more sense to me. It's a shame that the series didn't go as far as it could have, but it kept me entertained the whole time. My advice, watch the 1985 version and then this if you can. The great thing about reboot series is that they sometimes love to make references and pay homage to the original series. So when you watch the 2011 series, you'll be like "Oh. Omg I remember that! Ha ha ha". I would recommend.
